Health & safety in scaffolding

We take health and safety extremely seriously. We adhere strictly to all industry safety standards, of course, but consider this to be a start point, not a destination.

Our excellent health & safety track record

ASM staff are proud of our 100 per cent clean record, with no lost-time accidents. We are heavily committed to ensuring the safety of our staff, our customers’ staff and visitors and everyone connected with a project.

We have invested in a computerised health and safety management system, which helps us manage not only safety but also the quality of related documentation.

Each scaffolder is:

Each scaffolder is CISRS registered and has achieved Advanced Scaffolder status or Basic Part 1 and Part 2. Each one carries a CISRS photo ID card.

Qualified to CSCS standard and is CITB approved

Ongoing health & safety training

To us, health and safety extends beyond regulation and compliance. It’s a way of life.

All our scaffolders are on payroll (we do not use sub-contractors). Each member attends regular ‘toolbox talks’ – training and refresher sessions addressing issues such as handling asbestos; working in confined spaces and at heights; working with the public; slips, trips and falls; electrocution and overhead power cables. We also employ a CMIOSH qualified health and safety consultant.

Policy Info

Here at ASM we work in collaboration with a H&S specialist, this ensures we are always up to date with any industry changes. Every job is issued its own Method Statement and Risk Assessment prior to erection. Once the job is complete it will then be issued a Handing Over Certificate confirming compliance. We also have a very in-depth H&S Policy; this is reviewed annually and is available for all of our clients should they request it
